The course is a 10 week program that offers citizens a unique view of how police officers perform their duties and serve their community in Fuquay-Varina. The course involves meeting once a week on Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Instructors are employees of the Fuquay-Varina Police Department. Must be at least 18 years old, have no felony convictions (background check required), complete an application, town residents receive first priority and limited seating available. FVPD is working with area law enforcement agencies to raise funds for the NC Special Olympics in this year's Polar Plunge. "Come Dipping for a Reason" at the Harris Lake Dunkin' Dip for Special Olympics NC on Sat., Feb. 16, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Harris Lake County Park, 2112 County Park Dr., New Hill.

FVPD participates in fundraising for the NC Special Olympics through various activities to include the NC Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, t-shirt sales, and other activities. This is part of our ongoing effort to enhance the quality of life for all members of our community through positive community engagement efforts.
