The Town provides bi-weekly curbside recycling collection. Please place items directly into your blue recycle cart. DO NOT place recycle material in a plastic bag of any kind and make sure the cart is placed curbside the night before your assigned day to ensure pickup. The Town of Fuquay-Varina will not empty blue recycling bins if materials are placed in a plastic bag of any kind or contain non-recyclable material.
Recyclable material must be placed directly in the recycle cart. We can’t take material that is placed in a bag and then in the bin. Here’s why: Our recycle handler will not take material that is placed in a bag because there’s no way to ensure that all materials can be recycled.
The following items cannot be placed in the garbage cart:
Treated wood, recyclables, yard waste, liquids, dirt, masonry, rock, metal, wood, building materials, ashes, loose diapers, animal waste, contractor waste, fluorescent light tubes, electronic waste or hazardous waste. Please consult with Wake County Solid Waste management to determine the correct disposal of these items.
