1. How are teams determined? Are there cuts?

All participants who are registered and have paid all fees will be allowed to play. All teams will be determined by a player evaluation and draft.

2. How do I sign up?

3. How will I be notified?

Once teams are formed, coaches will contact parents either by phone or email to notify you of game / practice schedules, important changes, pictures, etc. We will primarily communicate through email but most updates will be posted to the Recreation Department’s webpage.

4. What are the age groups?

Softball is open to girls ages 6 - 18. Divisions are subject to change based upon number of registrants. Divisions are: 6 - 8 machine pitch, 9 - 10, 11 - 13, 14 - 15 and 16 - 17.

5. What equipment am I responsible for?

Parents will be responsible for purchasing cleats, black pants, and any other necessary equipment. The Recreation Department will provide one shirt (uniform) per player. One set of catcher’s equipment and team helmets will be provided for each team. Recommended items for parents to purchase include bat, helmet (with facemask), glove, water bottle and bat bag.

6. What is the age cutoff date?

The age cutoff date is January 1 of the current playing year.

7. When does registration for Softball begin / end?

8. Where are games and practices held ?

When practicable, games and practices will be held on town owned or Town leased property. The number of participants in a league is always a variable and can necessitate changes to ensure the best possible playing circumstances for youth registered in the program. Games and practices will be held weeknights and on Saturdays.

9. What equipment am I responsible for?

Parents will be responsible for providing black shorts and knee pads. Shirts will be provided by the Recreation Department.
