Fuquay-Varina's NC Certified Business Park
The Town considers the recruitment of manufacturing corporations a key economic development objective. Expanding the Town’s manufacturing core is imperative to the future of Fuquay-Varina’s economy. If Fuquay-Varina is going to compete in a global marketplace for job growth by recruiting large private sector investment, the Town must strategically leverage its public sector resources to attract new, private sector industrial investment. The recruitment of new manufacturing firms to the community was identified as a major initiative in the Town's 2015 - 2025 Economic Development Strategy adopted by the Town Board in late 2014.
The Town intends to aggressively market the property to specific industries and companies consisting of but not limited to Advanced Manufacturing, Electric Computer/Component Manufacturing, Research/Development, Medical Device Manufacturing, Defense, and Assembly Operations. The project site will also serve as a potential location for the recruitment of BIG4 suppliers. It is important that the Town create an identity or niche for the property, identify target users, and convince them that the project location is where they need to locate. The Town intends to pursue an aggressive recruitment and marketing plan for the site to include creating a master site plan for the site to help establish the site's identity, create a marketing portfolio (digital and web-based) for third parties (manufacturing firms, site selectors, design-build developers), and host familiarization tours with elected officials, site selectors, industrial developers.
