The Economic Development Director is responsible for overseeing Town's Economic Development Department, which provides professional services to attract new investment and industry, encourages the expansion of existing industry, and aligns workforce education and talent to support the Fuquay-Varina business community.
McNeill is a graduate of East Carolina University and holds a Master of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University. She is also a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) through the International Economic Development Council.
The Downtown Development Manager is responsible for working to revitalize and redevelop the downtown core of the Fuquay-Varina community. The Downtown Development Manager recruits new downtown businesses, supports existing businesses, creates mixed-use development opportunities, markets and promotes downtown businesses, and creates community downtown events. The Downtown Development Manager also serves as the NC Main Street Director. The Fuquay-Varina Main Street Director works to stimulate economic development within the context of historic preservation, using a comprehensive approach to downtown revitalization developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and utilized by the National Main Street Center to create well-balanced benefits via The Main Street Four-Point Approach: Organization, Promotion, Design & Economic Vitality.
