This event features things people love about North Carolina: BBQ, Blues, and Craft Beer! Guests are encouraged to sample delicious BBQ, savor a unique selection of locally brewed beer and enjoy live music. $10.00 per 10 tasting tickets - available for purchase the day of event. The BBQ always sells out before the end of the day, so come early if you want to sample the best BBQ around!

When you walk in Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss. The Chairman of the Board opens the Celebrate Fuquay-Varina festival this year!  For over 30 years, the Chairman of the Board has been delighting audiences with hits such as Give Me Just A Little More Time, Pay to the Piper, Finders Keepers, Chairman of the Board, and Everything's Tuesday.  Don’t miss one of Soul Music’s all-time great groups! 

Pets and coolers are not allowed in the event area.  Bring chairs or blankets for this outdoor concert.

Fire Department Open House and Blood Drive
Celebrate National Fire Prevention Week

Saturday, October 13, 10 am – 3 pm
Station #1, 301 S. Fuquay Avenue, Fuquay-Varina, NC

Visit Station #1 and learn about fire prevention and safety planning and have FUN!  Sparky the Fire Dog and Pluggie the Fire Hydrant will visit.  See fire prevention and equipment displays and witness great demonstrations! Hand-on experience for young ones!  Free.

FVFD will host a Blood Drive from 10 am- 3 pm.  Sign up to give blood!  Donors will get a $10 Chick-fil-A gift cards.  

1st Annual Whole Hog & Pork Shoulder Cook-off

Saturday, October 20, 12 – 8 pm
American Legion Post 116, 6400 Johnson Pond Rd., Fuquay-Varina, NC 

Judging starts at 9 am with sales starting at 12 pm with plates for $10 per plate.  This event is sanctioned by the NC Pork Council and winners will have the chance to cook at state championship. Otis Campbell Band will play beginning at 2 pm.  

Haunted Trail
Saturday, October 20, 5 pm is Family Fright, Full Fright 7-9 pm

Carroll Howard Johnson Park  

Parking:  There is no parking at Carroll Howard but you can park your car at South Park and ride a shuttle!  
Family Fright, appropriate for families with younger children, will be from 5-6 pm. Full Fright, which will be scarier, will take place from 7-9 pm. Everyone is invited to attend. The Haunted Trail is free, but please note there will be scary stuff, so enter at your own risk! This is an outdoor activity with low lighting so remember to wear appropriate shoes, preferably tennis shoes and dress for the weather.

Downtown Fuquay-Varina

Trick or Treat in Downtown Fuquay-Varina is a FREE annual Halloween event sponsored by FVDA and the merchants along the Fuquay, Link and Varina Retail Districts.  Parents are invited to dress-up their ghosts and goblins, grab a bag and visit the merchants that display the sign, “Trick or Treat Here!”
