Come hear the annual State of the Town address on Mon., March 4 at 6:30 pm at Town Hall. Mayor John W. Byrne will highlight achievements from 2018 and discuss the Town’s strategic vision for the coming year. Not able to make the meeting? No worries. The video presented at the meeting will be shared on social media and the Town's website.

Terrible Creek Waste Water Treatment Ribbon Cutting

Join us for a public Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Terrible Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant and tour this newly expanded state-of-the-art facility that increases the facility’s treatment capacity from 1 to 3 million gallons per day and provides treatment capacity in the Neuse River portion of the Town through at least 2034.  

The $34 million expansion project, paid for through revenue bonds, began in 2016 and plant operation officially began in June 2018.  

The newly expanded plant includes a new influent pump station, pretreatment facility, biological nutrient removal tanks, secondary clarifiers, disk filters, ultraviolet disinfection, chemical storage and feed building, maintenance building, administrative building and a truck loading facility.

Teen Day Fuquay is a free, hands-on learning experience to help teens understand that distracted driving can have devastating consequences. Take the Drive Wise Course Challenge, listen to music, hang out with friends and meet Fuquay-Varina police and fire personnel.  The first 250 teens to complete the Drive Wise Challenge will get a free t-shirt.  Free pizza and soda will be served around 12:00 pm.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny hops into town a week early on Saturday, April 13th at 10 am bringing thousands of eggs to South Park in Fuquay-Varina for the Town’s annual Easter Egg Hunt.  Grab a basket or bag and plan to bring the kids for what has become a wonderful Fuquay-Varina tradition. Children ages 10 and under are invited to participate. The Easter Bunny is eager to pose with kids, so make sure to bring a camera.

After the Town’s Easter Egg Hunt, hop on over to Downtown Fuquay-Varina for more Easter fun at the Candy Hop.  Downtown merchants supply candy and goodies while parents take children shop to shop with baskets to collect the treats. The Easter Bunny and Spring Chick will be joining in the fun for some adorable photo ops!

Looking for something to do on National Star Wars  Day? If you are also concerned about the quality of local water and want to make your community a healthier, more beautiful place, then this is your chance. Through the national Big Sweep Campaign, you are invited to help clean up our streams, wetlands, ponds, and lakes. 

VOLUNTEERS WELCOME! Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  Meet at 8:30 am at the South Lake Subdivision Amenity Center. Gloves, trash bags and other supplies will be provided. Volunteers should wear long pants and sturdy shoes or boots. Win a prize if you wear something Star Wars themed!  Please preregister by contacting jmitchell@fuquay-varina.org. A weather make-up day is scheduled for May 11, 2019. May the 4th be with you!
