Wake County Public School System operates seven elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school in Fuquay-Varina. A second public high school is under construction. A public charter school also operates as a middle and high school.
Colleges and Universities
Nearly 50% of Fuquay-Varina's population holds a bachelor's degree or higher. Fuquay-Varina is within a 45-minute drive of three Tier 1 research universities — North Carolina State University, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill — three historically black colleges, North Carolina Central University, Shaw University, and St. Augustine's University and three other colleges and universities, including nearby Campbell University. With programs like engineering, communications, dental and medical schools, and law schools, it's no wonder our community is so dynamic.
Wake Technical Community College enrolls more than 70,000 students annually. Its largest campus, the Southern Campus, is adjacent to Fuquay-Varina and the new 540 Triangle Expressway extension.
