The Fuquay-Varina Arts Center officially opened on March 18, 2019. The Arts Center is a long held dream for our community! Now, it's a reality! Expect great things! The facility is beautiful...bright, creative and ready for you to experience!
The Arts Center is a combination of renovated space and new construction, designed by Szostak Design, Inc. The renovated portion of the facility--which started its life as a Belk's department store--now includes an art gallery, administrative offices, dance, painting, and digital studios and four classrooms for a variety of visual and performing arts classes.
The new construction includes access to the second floor by way of a stairwell or elevator and a 294-seat theatre, complete with technical booth and performance support spaces.
The new Arts Center takes it role as a downtown destination seriously, and staff will be programming a wide variety of visual and performing arts classes, in addition to changing the art in the Gallery on a regular basis. The theatre, too, will offer an expansive programming menu including live theatre from community and professional troupes, concerts, recitals, and movies.
The Arts Center thrives on activity. Whether you are stopping in for a class, show or to browse the Gallery, we look forward to welcoming you to Fuquay-Varina's cultural hub!
