The Fuquay-Varina Police Department strives to provide efficient, effective and professional law enforcement services to the community. The members of the Fuquay-Varina Police Department are committed to providing the highest level of police service.

Mission
The mission of the Fuquay-Varina Police Department is to serve the people of Fuquay-Varina and to provide safety and improved quality of life in our community through excellence in policing. This will be achieved by embracing the core values of fairness, vigilance, professionalism and dedication (F.V.P.D.).

Organizational Structure
The Fuquay-Varina Police Department is comprised of 59 sworn law enforcement officers along with 8 civilian positions. To provide the highest level of service possible to our citizens, the department is broken down into four divisions including Administration, Patrol Services, Criminal Investigations and Support Services.
Administration
The Administration Division consists of the Office of the Chief of Police. The Chief supervises the three sworn division commanders within the following divisions: Patrol Services, Criminal Investigations and Support Services.
Patrol Services
The Patrol Services Division is managed by a Police Captain/Division Commander and the division is broken down into four squads, each squad consisting of a lieutenant, a sergeant and sworn police officer positions (to include corporals, master police officers, police officer II and police officer ranks) and a telecommunicator. Each lieutenant serves as a Watch Commander and has responsibility of one of the four districts - North, South, East and West. The Division also includes a Traffic Unit consisting of a sergeant and traffic officers whose primary functions include focusing on traffic collision investigations, traffic crash reconstruction as well as traffic safety education. This unit was formed initially through a grant from the NC Governor's Highway Safety Program.
Police officers investigate motor vehicle accidents, investigate violations of criminal law and enforce state laws and Town Ordinances. Each telecommunicator dispatch police-related calls for service and answer the Fuquay-Varina Police Department non-emergency phone line 919-552-3191.
Criminal Investigations
The Criminal Investigations Division is managed by a Police Captain/Division Commander and the division consist of the following:
A sergeant and investigators that are assigned to the following units:
- Narcotics and Vice Suppression
- Special Victims Unit
- Property Crimes
- Crimes Against Persons
Support Services
The Special Operations Division is managed by a Police Captain/Division Commander and the division consists of four units, including a Lieutenant, sworn officers and civilian personnel:
- Administrative Support - Records and Crime Analysis
- Professional Standards/Inspections/Planning
- Evidence and Property Control Unit
- Training and Recruitment
- Community Outreach
- School Resource Officers - We have two SROs, currently assigned to Fuquay-Varina High School and Willow Spring High School
