In an effort to stop storm water runoff from entering into the town's sewage collection system, our public utilities staff is asking citizens to inspect their sewer clean outs to ensure that they are not broken. A sewer clean out is the general term used to describe an access point of a waste piping system. During significant rain storms, a broken sewer clean out can allow storm water run-off and debris to enter the Town's sewage collection system causing sewage overflow and excessive flows at our wastewater treatment plant that can exceed treatment capacity.
If your sewer clean out is broken, please call 919-753-1028 to report it and the Town of Fuquay-Varina will repair it free of charge. This type of repair is generally the responsibility of the homeowner. We appreciate your assistance in helping us keep our water source clean.
