Town of Fuquay-Varina Projects

Burton Street Water Line Upgrade

Construction is underway on a water line upgrade project on Burton Street from Bridge Street to Coefield Street. Spanning approximately 700 feet in length, a new six (6) inch water line will replace the current two (2) inch line and serve 11 lots, nine (9) of which are currently single-family homes.

Fleming Loop Park

Construction is underway on improvements to the 33.80-acre Town park located at 503 Fleming Loop Road which will include soccer fields, a playground, a shelter, trails, and 314 parking spaces.



Fuquay-Varina Arts Center


The Fuquay-Varina Arts Center is now open. The community arts center and theater, located at 121 East Vance Street in downtown Fuquay, is 18,000 square feet and hosts shows, events, and classes.

Fuquay-Varina Police Department


Renovation Plans have been approved for the new location of the Fuquay-Varina Police Department, located at 401 Old Honeycutt Road. The 15,298 square foot building is on a 5.9-acre lot and currently serves as Town Hall. The renovation is expected to be complete in Summer 2019.

Fuquay-Varina Town Hall


Renovation is underway for a new location of the Fuquay-Varina Town Hall located at 134 N Main Street. The 29,865 square foot building was formerly the offices of Bob Barker Company, Inc. and is on a 0.94 acre lot. The renovation is expected to be complete in Summer 2019. 

Non-Residential Site Plan Projects

601 Attain Street Office Building

Construction is underway for an office building at 601 Attain Street. The 9,200 square foot building is for general office use and is on a 1.98-acre site.

1000 Procure Street Parking Lot

A site plan has been approved for a parking lot expansion for commercial use at the end of the cul-de-sac on Procure Street. This expansion consists of 40 parking spaces on 1.558 acres.

Attain Street Office Building

A site plan has been approved for offices at 400 and 404 Attain Street. The plan includes two office buildings totaling 30,000 square feet and an accompanying parking lot with access from Procure Street and Attain Street. The proposed buildings are on a 1.84-acre lot.

Bagels Plus

A site plan is in review for a parking lot and landscaping upgrade at Bagels Plus, located at 100 Dickens Road. The project features an entrance and improved curb-and-gutter along Dickens Road.



Bengal Towne Centre

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Bengal Towne Centre, an 18.48 acre form-based development located at 1000 NE Judd Parkway near the intersection with Stewart Street. The development features 13 tracts to be developed for a variety of uses such as office, commercial, mixed-use, apartments, and civic space. Additionally, the plans include infrastructure and 53 townhomes.

Bent Tree Amenity Center


A site plan for an amenity center in the Bent Tree Subdivision has been approved and features a mailbox kiosk, 19 parking spaces, a pool, and pool house on 1.64 acres.

Century Fields Cricket Field

A site plan is in review for Century Fields Cricket Field, located at 7720, 7712, and 7700 Barefoot Road. The proposed athletic fields will include two (2) cricket fields, a multi-purpose field, and a parking lot on 14.91 acres.



CrossFit Shoofly

A site plan is in review for a commercial property which includes CrossFit Shoofly to be located at 808, 810, and 812 Durham Street. The plan includes a 13,000 square foot building with 50 parking spaces on a 1.13-acre lot.

David Norris Building

A site plan has been approved for an auto detailing shop to be located at 5005 Piper Cub Drive. The plan includes a 3,200 square foot building with nine (9) parking spaces.

Destination Community Church of God

A site plan has been approved for Destination Community Church of God, to be located at the corner of Holland Road and SE Judd Parkway. The proposed 12,000 square foot building is on a 2.63-acre lot.

Fuquay-Varina High School

A site plan is in review for a major renovation of the Fuquay-Varina High School campus. A combination of renovation and new construction will result in a 291,398 square foot facility with capacity for 2,350 students, a greenhouse, improved vehicular circulation, and increased parking.

Fuquay-Varina Library

Construction is underway for a new location of the Fuquay-Varina branch of the Wake County Public Library. The plan includes an 8,000 square foot building with an entrance plaza. The new library will be located on a 6.36 acre parcel on Bramblehill Drive and East Academy Street.

Fuquay Wade Nash Substation

A site plan has been approved for Fuquay Wade Nash 115kv Substation, located at 4821 Wade Nash Road. The site is 23.24 acres near the corner of North Broad Street and Wade Nash Road.

Harris Teeter


Construction is underway for a Harris Teeter located at 1371 E Broad Street. The proposed grocery store, which was formerly Kroger, is 50,082 square feet and located in the Fuquay Crossing shopping center. 

Imperial Self Storage


Construction is underway for a 37,700 square foot self-storage facility, located at 6917 S NC 55 Hwy, near the corner with Jones Lake Road. The proposed building is on 4.98 acres.

Infinite Self Storage


A site plan is in review for Phase 1 of a 61,175 square foot self-storage facility located at 414 Judd Parkway SW. The proposed buildings are on 14.70 acres.

Lane Dental Plaza Phase 1


A site plan is in review for Lane Dental Plaza located at 1830 N Broad Street. Phase 1 includes a 4,968 square foot bank building, and the total site is 8.22 acres.

Latter Day Saints Church


A site plan is in review for Latter Day Saints Church located at 2540 North Broad Street. The proposed church building is 17,901 square feet on 6.84 acres.

Meadowbrook Amenity Center


A site plan is in review for an amenity center in the Meadowbrook Subdivision. The site features a 1,700 square foot building with a 600 square foot cabana, a playground, and a pool.

Panera Bread
Construction is underway for Panera Bread located at 1330 N Main Street (US 401). The proposed building is 4,584 square feet in Sunset Plaza.

Public Storage – Fuquay-Varina


Construction is underway on a proposed 124,200 square foot building at 4902 Wade Nash Road at the corner of North Broad Street and Lightwater Lane. This site is 4.78 total acres. 

Royal Creek Commercial Building #1
A site plan is in review for Royal Creek Commercial Building #1, located off Ten Ten Road in the Royal Creek Subdivision. The proposed building features 5,200 square feet of retail/commercial space on 2.11 acres.

Sam’s Xpress Car Wash
A site plan is in review for Sam’s Xpress Car Wash, a car wash and vehicle fuel station located at 1528 NMain Street. The proposed building is 4,140 square feet on 2.3 acres.

South Lakes Elementary School


A site plan has been approved for South Lakes Elementary School, located off of Old Honeycutt Road. The school will be a part of the Wake County Public School System and consist of 124,110 square foot building and athletic fields over 26.25 acres.

State Employees Credit Union


Construction is underway for a new location of the State Employees Credit Union at 9900 Fayetteville Road (US 401) near the Banks Road intersection. The proposed building is 10,000 square feet on 4.69 total acres.

The Learning Experience


Construction is underway for the Learning Experience, a daycare located at 2020 Marquee Lane, in the Village of Marquee Station. The proposed building is 10,000 square feet on a 1.43-acre lot.

Ting Central Office


A site plan has been approved for the Ting Central Office, located at 525 N. Main Street. The proposed plan utilizes the existing 1,036 square foot building and adds a 564 square foot accessory structure on a 1.42-acre lot.

Willow Spring High School


Construction is underway for the newest addition to the Wake County Public School System. Willow Spring High School is located at 1704 Old Honeycutt Road, at the corner of Kennebec Road and Old Honeycutt Road. Willow Spring High School is expected to open in 2019.

Residential Development Projects

Adalyn Place


Construction of infrastructure is underway for Adalyn Place Subdivision, located on 30.075 acres near the intersection of East Academy Street and SE Judd Parkway. This open space development features 92 single-family lots averaging 7,400 square feet in size with 7.425 acres of open space and the extension of both East Academy Street and Bevis Marks Drive.

Adams Vineyards (Previously Stancil Vineyards)

Construction plans are in review for Adams Vineyards Subdivision, located at the intersection of NC 42 Hwy and John Adams Road. This open space development features 30 single-family lots averaging 29,664 square feet with 17.37 acres of open space. 

Arlington Meadows

Construction plans are in review for Arlington Meadows Subdivision, located at 1401 Angier Road. This open space development features 175 single-family lots with an average size of 8,324 square feet with 18.23 acres of open space.

Avery Crossing

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Avery Crossing Subdivision located at 1301 Phelps West Road. This open space development features 56 single-family lots with an average size of 7,120 square feet with 4.265 acres of open space.

Basal Creek Planned Unit Development

Construction plans are in review for Basal Creek Subdivision, a planned unit development, located at 508 Schnapps Lane. The plan includes an 85.8 acre tract, to be developed in the future for a variety of uses including mixed-use buildings, apartments, and townhomes with just over 30 acres of open space. Construction plans are in review for the townhome portion called Basal Creek Townhomes, which includes 234 units.

Bent Tree

Bent Tree Subdivision is located at 721 and 911 Fleming Loop Road. Construction is underway for Phase 1 featuring 78 single-family lots averaging 8,500 square feet. Construction plans have been approved for Bent Tree Phases 2 & 3 featuring 205 single-family lots averaging 8,130 square feet. This open space development also provides just over 24 acres of open space.

Black Creek Estates

Construction plans have been approved for Black Creek Estates Subdivision, located at 1955 Eddie Howard Road. This conventional subdivision features 24 single-family lots, averaging 27,450 square feet on 26.491 acres.

Briar Gate

Construction plans are in review for Briar Gate Subdivision, located off Old Powell Road and Wilbon Road. This open space development features 193 lots averaging 7,497 square feet with 44.73 acres of open space and will be constructed in three (3) phases.

Brighton Ridge

Construction is underway for Brighton Ridge Subdivision, located near the intersection of Hilltop Needmore Road and Lake Wheeler Road. This open space development features 164 single-family lots, averaging 10,300 square feet in size, and with 56.49 acres of open space.

Broadwell Trace

Construction is underway for Broadwell Trace Subdivision, located at 721 Coley Farm Road. This open space development features 120 single-family lots averaging 6,721 square feet with 16.9 acres of open space.

Brook Valley

A preliminary subdivision plan is in review for Brook Valley Subdivision, located at 3528 Wiltree Drive. This open space development features 199 single-family lots averaging 11,592 square feet with 24.87 acres of open space on 92.53 acres.


Carolina Gardens (Formerly Purfoy South)


Construction plans are in review for Phases 1-12, 13-16, and 17-22 of Carolina Gardens Subdivision, located at 9036 Purfoy Road. Phases 1-12 of the open space development feature 492 single-family lots with an average lot size with 80.02 acres of open space. Phases 13-16 feature 149 single-family lots with an average lot size of 8,465 square feet with 23.14 acres of open space. Phases 17-22 feature 154 single-family lots with an average lot size of 8,465 with 28.16 acres of open space. 

Cedar Crest


Construction of homes is underway at Cedar Crest Subdivision, located at 6826 Sunset Lake Road, just north of Ballentine Elementary School. This conventional subdivision features 59 single-family lots with minimum lot sizes of 10,000 square feet, on 22.15 acres.

Copper Pond

Construction of homes is underway in Phases 1 and 2 of Copper Pond Subdivision, located off Piney Grove Wilbon Road near the intersection with West Academy Street (NC 42 Hwy); construction of infrastructure is complete for Phases 3–5. This conventional development features 50 single-family lots in five phases with a minimum lot size of 20,000 square feet on 46.61 acres.

Crown Village

Construction of infrastructure is underway in Crown Village Subdivision, located at 6513 Mims Road. This conventional subdivision features 10 single-family lots, averaging 36,200 square feet.

Forest Bluff Estates


A preliminary subdivision plan is in review for Forest Bluffs Estates Subdivision, located on N Main Street (US 401) across from the intersection with Dwight Rowland Rd. This conventional development features 74 single-family lots averaging 13,810 square feet on 30.06 acres.

Geneva


Construction plans are in review for Geneva Subdivision, located at 1501 Angier Road. This open space development is to be constructed in nine (9) phases and features 452 single-family lots averaging 7,877 square feet with 45.86 acres of open space.

Hidden Valley

Construction of homes is underway for Hidden Valley Subdivision, located across multiple parcels that stretch between Purfoy Road and S NC 55 Highway, previously the Hidden Valley Golf Club. This open space development features 505 single-family lots, averaging 9,400 square feet with 75.49 acres of open space.

Highland Forest

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Highland Forest Subdivision, located at 1455 Bowling Road. This open space development features 90 single-family lots, averaging 8,517 square feet with 18.32 acres of open space.

Holland Station Townhomes

Construction of homes is underway Holland Station Townhomes, located at 560 SE Judd Parkway. This open space development features 110 lots on 21.87 acres with 6.77 acres of open space. The development has access onto Holland Road and will include the extension of Barneswyck Drive.

Kennebec Meadows

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Kennebec Meadows Subdivision, located at 6817 Kennebec Road. This conventional subdivision features 49 single-family lots with an average lot size of 27,000 square feet on 48.27 acres

Kingston Wood

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Kingston Wood Subdivision, located at 2525 Fleming Road. This conventional development features 13 lots with a minimum lot size of 20,000 square feet. 

Lakeview


Construction is underway for Lakeview Subdivision, located at 1339 Old Honeycutt Road, east of South NC 55 Hwy. This open space development features 135 single-family lots, averaging 5,982 square feet with 9.84 acres of open space.

The Landing at Arnold Park

Construction plans are in review for the Landing at Arnold Park Subdivision, located off Wagstaff Road near the intersection of South Main Street (US 401). This open space development, which will be built in three (3) phases, features 12 single-family homes and 79 townhomes. The project is on 15.29 total acres with residential lots averaging 6,439 square feet with 5.656 acres of open space.

Logan Meadow

Construction plans are in review for Logan Meadow Subdivision, located at 501 SE Judd Parkway near the intersection of Holland Road. This conventional development features 12 single-family lots averaging 7,400 square feet on 4.64 acres.

Madison Park Apartments

A site plan is in review for Madison Park Apartments located at 9408 Fayetteville Road (Hwy 401), just south of Wake Technical College, and will have access onto Fayetteville Road (Hwy 401) and Ransdell Road. This multi-family residential development features 178 apartment units in four (4) buildings along with two (2) commercial outparcels on 11.86 acres.

Mainstreet

A preliminary subdivision plan is in review for Mainstreet Subdivision, located 1105 S Main Street (US 401). This open space development features 24 single-family lots averaging 7,182 square feet with 2.67 acres of open space.



Meadow Bluffs

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Phases 1 and 2, and construction plans are in review for Phases 3–7 for Meadow Bluffs Subdivision, located at 6021 Johnson Pond Road. This open space development features 237 lots, averaging 7,957 square feet with 35.28 acres of open space.

Meadowbrook

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Meadowbrook Subdivision, located at 6600 S NC 55 Hwy. This open space development features 282 single-family lots averaging 13,285 square feet with 45.12 acres of open space.

Meridian at Broad Street Market

Construction is nearly complete at Meridian at Broad Street Market located at 1810 James Slaughter Road behind Broad Street Market and has access onto NE Judd Parkway and James Slaughter Road. This multifamily residential development features 216 apartment units and a 7,453 square foot clubhouse building with an outdoor pool.

Meyers Place

Construction of homes in Phase 1 and construction of infrastructure in Phase 2 are underway for Meyers Place Subdivision, located at 6308 Mims Road. This conventional development features 39 single-family lots averaging 35,400 square feet on 56.39 acres.

Partin Place

Construction of homes is underway in Phase 3, construction of infrastructure is complete for Phase 5, and construction plans for Phases 4 and 6 have been approved for Partin Place Subdivision. The subdivision features a total of 289 single-family lots. Construction of homes in Phases 1 and 2 is complete and can be accessed via Harrison Place Lane in the existing Harrison Place Subdivision off NC 42 Hwy.

Patriot Bluffs

Construction of homes is underway for Patriotr Bluffs Subdivision, located at 6428 Johnson Pond Road. This open space development features 52 single-family lots with a minimum lot size of 5,000 square feet with 4.94 acres of open space. 



Persimmon Woods

A preliminary subdivision plan has been approved for Persimmon Woods Subdivision, located at 1908 W Academy Street (NC 42 Hwy). This conventional development features 16 single-family lots averaging 25,164 square feet on 11.83 acres.


Powell Square

A site plan is in review for Powell Square Apartments, located at 2021 N Broad Street (NC 55 Hwy) with an additional access to Old Powell Road. This multi-family residential development will be built in four (4) phases and features 384 apartment units in 16 buildings and an amenity center on 26.88 acres.

Royal Creek

Both preliminary subdivision and construction plans are in review for Royal Creek Subdivision, located at the southeast corner of Lake Wheeler Rd. and Ten-Ten Rd. This form-based development features 56 single-family homes and 109 townhomes with 17.78 acres of open space on 67.7 acres.

Royal Creek Apartments

A site plan is in review for Royal Creek Apartments located at the intersection of Ten-Ten Road and Lake Wheeler Road. This multi-family development features 264 units and a clubhouse on a 9.76-acre site.



The Retreat at Fuquay-Varina

Construction is underway for the Retreat at Fuquay-Varina, located at 800 NE Judd Parkway across from Products Road. This multi-family development features 432 units, a pool, and a clubhouse on a 29.4-acre site.

Rutherford (Formerly Barrington)

Construction plans are in review for Rutherford Subdivision, located at 9315 Lake Wheeler Road. This open space development features 180 single-family lots averaging 8,194 square feet with 17.91 acres of open space.



Saras Grove

A preliminary plan is in review for Saras Grove Subdivision, located at 7005 Kennebec Road. This conventional development features nine (9) single-family lots averaging 30,906 square feet on 7.34 acres.



Sippihaw Springs

A preliminary plan is in review for Sippihaw Springs Subdivision, located at 6008 NC 55 Hwy. This open space development features 20 single-family lots on 25.07 acres.

Sonoma Springs

Construction of homes is nearly complete in Phase 1 and underway in Phases 2 and Phase 3 for Sonoma Springs Subdivision, located off of Hilltop Needmore Road near the intersection with Sunset Lake Road. This open space subdivision will be constructed in three (3) phases, featuring a total of 126 single-family lots with a minimum lot size of 6,000 square feet with 8.98 acres of open space on 46 acres.

South Lakes

South Lakes Subdivision is a planned unit development (PUD) that features 991 single-family lots. Multiple phases are now in progress and construction of homes is underway in Phase SF-7. This phase totals 290 single-family lots and will be accessed from Old Honeycutt Road. Phase SF-8, an infrastructure-only project, is under construction and includes the extension of Fuquay-Varina Parkway north of Old Honeycutt Road. Construction of infrastructure is underway for Phase SF-10, which includes 75 single-family lots located on the east side of Kennebec Road. Preliminary plans are in review for Phases SF-8 and AR-1. The former features 65 single-family homes averaging 6,600 square feet with 16.95 acres of open space, and the latter features 45 townhome lots with 3.58 acres of open space. 

The Spring Townhomes

Construction of homes is underway for The Spring Townhomes located in downtown Fuquay on the corner of Spring Avenue and Vance Street, at 208 Spring Street. This townhome development features 15 units on 0.80 acres.

Stonecreek


Construction plans are in review for Stonecreek Subdivision, located at 5324 Hilltop Needmore Road. This open space development features 185 single-family lots averaging 10,971 square feet with 17.30 acres of open space on 77.46 acres.

Summerdale

Construction of homes is complete in Phases 5 and 6, and Phase 7 construction of infrastructure is underway for Summerdale Subdivision, located off West Academy Street (NC 42 Hwy) and Coley Farm Road. This open space development features 201 single-family lots averaging 5,300 square feet with 18.20 acres of open space.

Summerdale North

Construction plans are in review for Summerdale North Subdivision, located on Dawley Drive. This open space development features 26 single-family lots, averaging of 6,100 square feet with 1.82 acres of open space on 6.7 acres.

Sunset Bluffs

Construction of homes in various phases is underway at Sunset Bluffs Subdivision, located off Herbert Akins Road near the intersection with Bass Lake Road. Phases 1–5 of this open space development feature 185 single-family lots with 17.62 acres of open space. Phases 6–17 feature 214 total single-family lots with a minimum lot size of 7,000 square feet, with 23.57 acres of open space.

Theys

Mill


Construction of infrastructure is underway for Theys Mill Subdivision, located at 1240 Kenneth Branch Drive with access onto Bowling Road. This open space development features 76 single-family lots averaging 8,394 square feet in size with 6.68 acres of open space.

Trilogy Farm

Construction plans are in review for Trilogy Farm Subdivision, located at 8220 Lake Wheeler Road. This open space development features 121 single-family lots averaging 12,131 square feet in size with 19.80 acres of open space.

Union Station

Construction of homes is underway for Union Station Subdivision, located at 235 Coley Farm Road. This open space development features 66 single-family lots averaging 7,900 square feet in size with 3.50 acres of open space.

The Village at Lake Wheeler

Construction plans are in review for The Villages at Lake Wheeler Subdivision, located at 8536 Lake Wheeler Road. This open space development features 108 single-family lots averaging 8,700 square feet with 13.1 acres of open space.

The Village at Marquee Station Phase IV

A site plan is in review for an additional apartment building at the Village at Marquee Station located at 2021 North Main Street. The additional building features 24 apartment units on 1.05 acres.

Woodland Point

Construction plans are in review for Woodland Point Subdivision, located at 414 SW Judd Parkway. This conventional development features 5 single-family lots on 4.162 acres and will have access onto Sunset Drive. 

Woodland Springs (Formerly Ryan Place)


Construction of infrastructure is underway for Ryan Place Subdivision, located at 1335 Bowling Road. This open space development features 63 single-family lots, averaging 7,600 square feet with 14.96 acres of open space.

New Businesses & Existing Business Improvements


This is a list of renovations and improvements to existing buildings for new businesses coming to Fuquay-Varina, as well as existing businesses making improvements or expansions.

Academy East Veterinary Hospital

A site plan has been approved for an expansion of the existing veterinary hospital, located at 1005 Procure Street. This expansion includes an additional 1,969 square feet and a parking lot extension.

Apostolic Church Parking Expansion


A site plan has been approved for a parking lot expansion at the Apostolic Church, located at 6124 Dwight Rowland Road. The expansion adds 27 additional parking spaces. 


Aviator Pizza & Retail


Construction is underway for an expansion of the existing Aviator Brewing Company Beer Shop located at 601 East Broad Street. The expansion incorporates another existing building, at 603 East Broad Street, and includes a pizzeria, retail store, and parking lot.

Bazzel Creek Church Expansion


Construction is underway for an expansion of the Bazzel Creek Church located at 1228 Wilbon Road. This expansion includes a 3,000-square foot addition and parking lot. 

Bob Barker Parking Expansion

A site plan is in review for an expansion of the parking lot at the Bob Barker facility located at 7925 Purfoy Road. The plan includes the addition of 122 parking spaces on 1.89 acres.

Fuquay Gun & Gold

A site plan is in review for an additional storage building at Fuquay Gun & Gold, located at 1602 N Main Street. The proposed storage building will be 2,250 square feet.



John Deere Parking Lot Expansion

A site plan is in review for an expansion of the parking lots at the John Deere facility, located at 6501 S NC 55 Hwy. The plan includes both the expansion of existing parking lots and a new parking lot adding 105 parking spaces.


McDonald’s Site Improvements

A site plan and building plans are under review for McDonald’s located at 1409 North Main Street (US 401). The improvements will provide for upgraded parking and accessibility at the existing location.

Southview Self-Storage Expansion

An expansion is underway of the Southview Self Storage Facility, located at 6008 S NC 55 Hwy. The expansion includes four (4) new buildings totaling 56,000 square feet on 20.09 acres.

Tsuru Sweets and Coffee

Construction is complete at Tsuru Sweets and Coffee, located at 411 E Broad Street, which is now open. Formerly, the Hook & Cleaver market, the 3,276 square foot building is on a 0.04-acre lot. 



Wake Technical Community College - Southern Loop Road and Paving


Construction is underway for a road and paving project called Southern Loop Road, on the campus of Wake Technical Community College. This project will create additional parking, extend Daffodil Drive, and will provide additional access to Fayetteville Road (US 401).
