Setting Up Utility Service

To establish water, sewer, and garbage service, review the steps below before completing the appropriate application.

Property owners who provide proof of ownership will have the deposit waived. To provide proof of ownership, include a photo of the upper portion of a closing disclosure with your name connected to the property.

Submit the application and proof of ownership via one of the following:

  • Mail to 134 N. Main Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526

  • Place in the drop box at 135 N. Main Street
  • Fax to 919-552-7481

Same-day service is available if the Town receives your application by 3 pm.

If the Town does not receive your payment by the due date, a $5 late fee is assessed, and a courtesy notice is mailed. Accounts whose balances and late fee are not paid by 8 am on the cut-off date are subject to disconnection and an additional $15 fee is added to the bill.

Returned checks and bank drafts are subject to a $25 fee. You have 10 days from the date of the letter to pay. Failure to pay will result in disconnection.

Stopping Service

To end service, complete the Contact Us form and select “Request/Disconnect Utility Service” from the drop-down.

Include your current service address, the date you want service to end, and a forwarding address (if you have one).

You may also submit a Stop Service Request form.

Water Leaks

The Town will consider adjustments to the sewer portion of the utility bill in cases where the water did not go into the sewer system (service line leaks, hot water tank leaks, outside faucet leaks). Leaks in which the water goes back into the sewer system (toilets, inside sinks/faucets) are not adjustable.
