Public Works is responsible for the overall maintenance of the Town's infrastructure (except water and sewer). This includes not only the maintenance of existing infrastructure, but the inspection of new infrastructure such as streets, sidewalks and storm drainage, to ensure that all applicable guidelines are met during the construction phase. Most of the new surfacing projects and street repair projects are made possible by Powell Bill funding. A portion of the work on storm drainage and construction and repair of sidewalks will be accomplished by Powell Bill funds. Powell Bill is a state program that provides funding for certain eligible projects in municipalities.

Public Works also oversees the collection of household garbage and recycling, yard debris, and storm related debris. Public Works personnel clean and sweep streets, and install all decorative banners and lights for holidays and special occasions.
