Greetings from Mayor John W. Byrne
I am proud to share with you that the Town of Fuquay-Varina is celebrating its 100th Anniversary as a municipality in 2009. "Celebrating Community" is the theme of our year long celebration of events, activites, and historical displays. For more information return to the home page and click on the Centennial Logo.
Our Town Government is working hard for the community to provide services that help make our quality of life better in Fuquay-Varina. This is an on going effort and takes commitments from the Town Board of Commissioners and Town Staff. Our Town Manager, Andy Hedrick, is committed to helping each of you on a daily basis and his staff does an outstanding job working to meet the needs of our community. Economic development, education, traffic control, public safety, infrastructure, planning, parks and recreation are all part to the big picture. Fuquay-Varina is located in the garden spot of Wake County and the path of progress of the Research Triangle Park and is changing with each passing day. What we do as a team to make it better is most important to our future generation.
The Fuquay-Varina Area Chamber of Commerce plays an important role in our community. The Chamber works closely with all aspects of the community in providing partnerships and leadership on issues that will affect our community. Partnerships take place when issues benefit both parties and this is good for the community. The leadership provided by the Chamber is most important because it is a reflection of the whole community and the direction their membership would like to go in. I am very pleased with the efforts the Chamber leadership makes and look forward to always working with them to accomplish our goals together
Fuquay-Varina has many different volunteer and nonprofit organizations: Fuquay-Varina Women's Club, Fuquay-Varina Lions Club, Fuquay-Varina Rotary Club, Fuquay-Varina Exchange Club, Fuquay-Varina Historical Society, Fuquay-Varina New Century, Fuquay-Varina Industrial Managers Association, Fuquay-Varina Athletic Association, and many more just waiting for you to be involved. You may find an organization for yourself by contacting the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce at (919) 552-4947 or visit their website at www.fuquay-varina.com.
As Mayor of Fuquay-Varina, I am very proud of our community and see the positive things we all can achieve working together. My email address is jbyrne@fuquay-varina.org and my home telephone number is (919) 552-6415. I look forward to hearing from you. Please browse our town's website. We have information you might need at your finger tips 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year, as well as links to other sites you might need.
