Common Building Reinspections
Common reinspection items on building field inspections:
1. Sheathing not nailed in accordance with the fastening schedule of the code.
2. Failure to follow engineered plan and specifications and or not providing required documentation. Example truss documents, truss layout not provided.
3. House not ready when inspection is called. Items from previous inspection not corrected.
4. Over notching and drilling of holes in structural wood.
5. Blocking missing between floor joist where load-bearing walls and point loads from above occur.
6. Missing safety glass at hazardous locations. ie: adjacent to doors, bath tub areas, and in walls of stairways.
7. Painting, caulking and weather-stripping inadequate around exterior of house.
8. Missing insulation in attic or crawl space on building final inspection.
9. More than two studs drilled in a load bearing wall.
10. House locked at building final inspection.
11. Proper placement of anchor bolts in foundation walls.
12. Deck bands not nailed and bolted with proper spacing.
