Recycling Collection Procedures

Image of Recycling CansRecycling is popular in Fuquay-Varina. Approximately 98% of the Town’s 6200 residential garbage customers choose to participate in the Town’s voluntary recycling program. Blue, easy to roll carts with a closeable top have been one factor in the success of the Town’s program. Simply put items in your recycle cart and make sure it is placed curbside on your assigned day by 5:00 a.m. or the night before to ensure pick-up.

Determining Your Recycling Day

Recycling is provided for residential customers and is picked up every other week on Wednesday. Your service week is determined by where you live and each route is given a color. The area south and east of US 401 is the Green Route. The area north and west of US 401 is the Gold Route.

You can also determine your recycling route by Subdivision and Street. You will then need to cross reference the Green and Gold Recycling Schedule. To find your scheduled garbage and recycling day by subdivision, please click here.
