In 2010, the Town Board of Commissioners determined the need for a Public Information Office to increase the quality, timeliness, frequency and effectiveness of communications between Town government and the citizens of Fuquay-Varina.
The Public Information Officer reports directly to the Town Manager and is responsible for developing a comprehensive, consistent public information program to ensure that town residents are well-informed of the services, news, events, accomplishments and initiatives of the Town of Fuquay-Varina.
The PIO maintains the Town's web site, produces the Focus on Fuquay-Varina Newsletter, and a variety of electronic newsletters. Other communication programs such as social media and an annual report are currently being considered as part of the overall communications strategy. If you have suggestions on how to improve Fuquay-Varina's communications program, please email sweis@fuquay-varina.org.
The Public Information Officer oversees the Town's media relation's efforts, emphasizing the regular dissemination of news on the Town's many positive programs, projects and services. The PIO answers media inquiries, provides media relations and public relations counsel.
The Public Information Office provides a host of advertising, marketing and public relations services for the Town of Fuquay-Varina.
