Sunday, July 3, Gates open 6 pm, Fireworks at sundown
South Park (900 S. Main Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC)  
Celebrate America’s birthday at the Fuquay-Varina Independence Day Celebration at South Park on Friday, July 3rd. South Park is located at 820 S. Main Street.  Gates open at 6 pm with Spare Change, playing a range of music sure to please everyone beginning at 7 pm.  Kids can enjoy free inflatables, rides and activities prior to the fireworks which begin at sundown.  Make sure to bring a blanket or chair and get there early to claim the best location to view the fireworks.  The event is alcohol-free, however, coolers are allowed.  Food vendors will be on site.  Please leave animals comfortably at home.

Join the Fuquay-Varina Arts Council in downtown on the Second Friday of every month (April-Dec) for the “Art after Dark” art walk. 
The Fuquay-Varina Museums will be open from 5-7pm during Art After Dark and local author Laura Grace Wunsch will be read her children's book "Gracie". 
Readings: 5:00pm-5:30pm, 5:45pm-6:15pm and 6:30pm-7:00pm. Tours from 5pm-7pm. 
Ice Cream Social Celebration National Ice Cream Day

Any day is a good day to eat ice cream, but National Ice Cream Day seems very official, so let’s make it a date!  Join us on Sunday, July 17 from 4 – 6 pm at the Fuquay Mineral Spring Park, where our town’s history began, to celebrate National Ice Cream Day and our town!  Last year, more than 500 people joined in the ice cream social.  Free ice cream, iced tea and lemonade will be served.

The Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its 7th annual “Core Connection” Business Expo at the Fuquay-Varina Community Center on Thursday, August 25th from 10:00am to 4:00pm.  This Expo celebrates the wide variety of new and existing businesses that have recently made southern Wake County a mecca for new business development.

Summer Camp Registration 

The Town will host weekly-themed this summer for children who have completed K-5.  The cost is $100 per week for residents and $125 per week for non-residents.  Find information about camp.
Youth Sports Registration for Fall Sports

July 1-August 30
Summer just began but it’s time to think about fall ball!  The Town will register for all fall sports including baseball, flag football, soccer, softball, t-ball and volleyball from July 4-30.  The cost is $40/resident and $65/non-resident.  Space availability after July 30th will be determined on a first come basis and a late registration fee of $10/resident and $15/non-resident will apply in addition to regular sports fees for registration after July 30th.  To register or learn specific league rules and participation information please check the individual sports pages at www.fvparks.org.  In person registration is available at the F-V Community Center located at 820 S. Main Street.
