Art After Dark Walk

Follow Me 2 Fuquay-Varina Concert

The band Crush, who has earned the reputation as one of the best performance bands in the Southeast, will kick-off the new Follow Me 2 Fuquay-Varina (FM2FV) concert series on Thursday, August 21. The FM2FV Concert Series will feature regional acts playing a variety of music in a family-friendly atmosphere. On August 21, kids will be entertained by Mimi the Clown and an inflatable while the adults listen to the music!

Coolers are not allowed but Anna’s Pizza will be onsite to provide food and drinks for a fee. Adult beverages will also be available for purchase!

Be one of the first 500 people at the FM2FV kick-off concert and get a choice of a free t-shirt or car magnet!
The FM2FV Concert will be held at Centennial Square located at the corner of Main and Academy Streets. Bring a lawn chair or blanket for this outdoor venue! Please leave animals comfortably at home.   Learn more!  

Business Expo

The 5th Annual “Core Connection” Business Expo will be held on Thursday, August 28th from 10am-4pm at the Fuquay-Varina Community Center at 820 S. Main Street.
The EXPO also includes a Health & Wellness corner, a medication drop at the Town’s booth, free food samples by 5+ area restaurants, and a tablet giveaway. A shredder event will also take place at the Community Center from 11am-3pm in conjunction with the EXPO. The event is free to the public.

We will be collecting children’s books (for all reading levels) during the event to help Read and Feed. Please bring gently used or new books to the Read and Feed van parked outside the Community Center during the EXPO. Let’s help them kick-off the new school year with a bang! www.Fuquay-Varina.com.

Garden Party

Adult guests will partake in a luncheon, entertainment, a hat contest, lawn games, and many raffle opportunities among a beautiful, home garden. Don't miss out on this fun, bi-annual event! Pre-sale tickets are available at The Garden Hut, David Anthony's Gifts, Magnolia House Gallery, and Ashley's Art Gallery for $12. You can also purchase tickets online at Eventbrite. Tickets are limited and will be sold for $15 on the party day if available. The event will take place rain or shine.

The Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce will host two candidate forums in conjunction with the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce on the following dates:
• Tuesday, September 9 at 7 pm at Stars Theater (123 E. Vance Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC). At this forum, meet candidates for state house, state senate and sheriff.
• Wednesday, September 17 at 7 pm at Holly Springs Cultural Arts Center. At this forum, meet candidates for Wake County Commissioner.

Fall for the Arts

Fall for the Arts, a special edition of the Art after Dark 2nd Friday Art Walk in Fuquay-Varina, will take place on Friday, September 12 from 5-9pm. The evening will include a variety of creative events and activities including an Artist and Crafter's Market, live local music, a drum circle, open mic, local artwork, creative activities for kids, Rickshaw Rides, and more! Out of Darkness Fuquay-Varina Community Walk

South Park
The second annual Out of Darkness Fuquay-Varina Community Walk will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at South Park on the Jeff Wells Environmental Greenway in Fuquay-Varina from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. with registration beginning at 1:00 p.m. Proceeds raised from the walk will go towards the North Carolina state chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The inaugural event held last September included over 100 walkers and raised over $14,000.
