The Planning Department will host a series of LDO Workshops throughout the spring and summer. The public is invited to come at any time during these drop-in style workshops and receive and provide information regarding the LDO.  Input will be used to revise the Draft LDO as appropriate.  Other meeting date: June 23.

Fuquay-Varina Presbyterian Church on Ennis Street
The Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce is excited to offer its 12th Annual Run the Quay road race, featuring a 5K , a 10K, a 15Quay Challenge, and a Children’s Fun Run.! This trio of races is held in historic downtown Fuquay-Varina, and both the 5K and 10K wind their way through charming neighborhoods in the southern tip of Wake County.
 
The 10K will begin at 7:00 am, the 5K will begin at 8:30 am. The Children’s Fun Run consists of both a 100-yard dash and a 1-mile run starting at 9:30 am. The 4th Annual Children’s Fun Run will begin at 9:30 am and includes two options—a 1-mile run and a 100-yard dash. This less competitive event will take place on an athletic field next to the Run the Quay venue and will be tailored to children ages toddler-10.

Join the Fuquay-Varina Arts Council downtown on the Second Friday of every month (April-Dec) for the “Art after Dark,” art walk. 

At Art After Dark, visit the Fuquay-Varina Museums Complex to meet Bill Cruikshank who has an Art History Degree from Rutgers University will display his works. Come and meet the artist and enjoy his work at the Fuquay-Varina Museums at Ashworth Park. 5:00-7:00 p.m.

July 3 Celebration

Sunday, July 3, Gates open 6 pm, Fireworks at sundown
South Park (900 S. Main Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC)  
Celebrate America’s birthday at the Fuquay-Varina Independence Day Celebration at South Park on Friday, July 3rd. South Park is located at 820 S. Main Street.  Gates open at 6 pm with Spare Change, playing a range of music sure to please everyone beginning at 7 pm.  Kids can enjoy free inflatables, rides and activities prior to the fireworks which begin at sundown.  Make sure to bring a blanket or chair and get there early to claim the best location to view the fireworks.  The event is alcohol-free, however, coolers are allowed.  Food vendors will be on site.  Please leave animals comfortably at home.

Any day is a good day to eat ice cream, but National Ice Cream Day seems very official, so let’s make it a date!  Join us on Sunday, July 17 from 4 – 6 pm at the Fuquay Mineral Spring Park, where our town’s history began, to celebrate National Ice Cream Day and our town!  Last year, more than 500 people joined in the ice cream social.  Free ice cream, iced tea and lemonade will be served.

Summer Camp Registration 

The Town will host weekly-themed, camps beginning June 20th for children who have completed K-5.  The cost is $100 per week for residents and $125 per week for non-residents.  Registration begins April 1.  Find information about camp at www.fvparks.org/summercamp.
