The Art Walk happens monthly starting in April!  Art after Dark will be held on the second Friday of each month (April - September) beginning at 5:00pm in Fuquay-Varina. The event is organized as a potluck of creativity, with local businesses, organizations, and artists are all encouraged to get involved to help us to promote and support the Arts in Fuquay-Varina.

Teen Day Fuquay

Saturday, April 18, 11 am – 4 pm
South Park, 900 S. Main Street
Teen Day Fuquay, an alcohol and distracted driving awareness program, offers young people the opportunity to experience the realities of mixing alcohol and texting with driving in a controlled situation and see the impact of drunk driving on real families by watching a simulated rescue. The goal is for pre-teens and teens to gain hands-on experience and learn the facts on April 18 that will help them make wiser choices about driving and keep their lives full of endless possibilities.

Over the past four years, the program has garnered rave reviews from parents, educators and students. Every year, the event gets bigger! In 2014, more than 1000 teens attended Teen Day Fuquay! The event is free! Pizza will be served. Lots of prizes! The first 250 teens to complete the Drive Wise Course will received a free t-shirt! 

En Plein Air Paint-off & Auction

For art lovers:  This event is a must attend event!  For two days, stroll around downtown Fuquay-Varina and watch some of the area’s top artists bring our downtown landscape to life!  See artists paint on April 17th (starting at noon) & 18th (starting at 10 am).  
Live Auction:  On Saturday, April 18, meet the artists and view the beautiful paintings beginning at 6 pm.  At 7pm a spirited auction will be held on Depot Street where community and triangle area art patrons will go head to head as they bid to take home one of these one-of-a-kind works of art! 
Public Art:  The top three winners’ paintings will be enlarged, reproduced and placed on vacant brick walls in our historic districts adding to the current collection of public art, organized by Fuquay-Varina Downtown and sponsored by Bob Barker, Inc.

Follow Me to Fuquay-Varina to hear great live music!  That’s the mantra this spring as the Follow Me to Fuquay-Varina (FM2FV) concerts kick off in April with a great band line-up playing at Centennial Square.  The series debuted this past fall to rave reviews!  The spring line-up will keep you dancing the entire concert!  These bands are fun, entertaining and play the music we love!  Bring a friend or the whole family!  Here’s the free concert schedule for the spring:

Last year, you helped us raise more than $4,500 for cancer research!  Won’t you help us again?  There are three ways to enjoy Johnny Jones’ famous BBQ!  Pre-order 10 or more plates and we’ll deliver!  Pre-order BBQ by the pound or drop by Town Hall from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm and enjoy a plate at a picnic area we will have set-up or use the convenient BBQ drive-thru!  Enjoy by the plate or the pound for $9.00 each.  Plates include BBQ, coleslaw, potatoes, bread and a choice of water and tea.  Please contact Teresa for pre-orders at or 919-567-3907.  
 
National Day of Prayer

Please join us on the lawn for the Fuquay-Varina National Day of Prayer Service at Fuquay-Varina Town Hall at 401 Old Honeycutt Rd., Fuquay-Varina, NC for a time of prayer for our town, our state, and our nation.  We will join thousands nationwide.
 
In addition to uniting in prayer, we will be collecting donations for two local area ministries:
Diapers/baby wipes/cash for Hand of Hope Pregnancy Resource Center and
Canned/dry goods for The FV Food Pantry
No donation is too small!

The Celebration of the Arts, now in its 12th year, has grown from a street-type art fair to a large art festival with more than 90 art vendors. The Celebration of the Arts is part of a town-wide festival called Celebrate Fuquay-Varina. This festival showcases regional music acts as well as a variety of free, family-fun entertainment. The combination of music, great food, fun activities and incredible art vendors attracts large crowds. In 2012, the estimated attendance at Celebrate Fuquay-Varina/Celebration of the Arts was more than 9,000 people. We are currently accepting Artist Applications. EARLY BIRD applications receive a discount before April 10th!!! Applications are due by Friday, April 10th. If all available booth spaces are not filled, applications MAY be accepted after the deadline. We had to turn artists away last year so get your application in EARLY!!
