One of Fuquay-Varina's greatest assets is its strategic location, which offers access to corporations, academia and the military. On one side of Fuquay-Varina is Research Triangle Park, home to more than 170 global companies that include IBM, GlaxoSmithKline, Credit Suisse and Cisco. On the other side is Fort Bragg, one of the world’s largest military installations.

Fuquay-Varina is uniquely positioned to offer expanding or relocating companies’ unparalleled options when it comes to logistics and distribution. Our region’s established network of highways, rail and air carriers make Fuquay-Varina  a prime location to be a “manufacturing mini-hub” where companies can easily reach the R&D-driven companies in the Triangle and the growing defense industry around Fort Bragg.

Highways & Roads

Fuquay-Varina is conveniently located near major interstate highways including I-40, I-85 and I-95, as well as national freight and passenger rail lines. US Highways 42, 55 and 401 converge in Fuquay-Varina offering direct access to the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, world-famous Research Triangle Park, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and Fort Bragg. The proposed I-540 Southern Expressway, spanning nearly 30 miles will extend the Triangle Expressway and complete the Raleigh Outer Loop (I-540) providing even greater access.

Fuquay-Varina is located 25 minutes away from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). RDU has nearly 400 flights on seven major airlines to nearly 45 non-stop destinations each day. In the fall of 2015, Delta Air Lines announced it would begin daily, non-stop service between RDU and Paris' Charles-DeGaulle International Airport. The service began on May 12, 2016. Each year more than 1.5 million people travel between RDU and international destinations.
