Summer Camp Programs

The Town will host weekly-themed camps beginning June 19, 2017 for children who have completed Kindergarten - 5th grade.

Week 1: Rock Star Week   June 19 - June 23
Channel your inner rockstar by experiencing a week of music and fame. Campers will have the chance to dance, sing, and craft throughout this fame-inspired week with special appearances!

Week 2:  Fit, Fun, & Food Week   June 26 - June 30
Campers will learn the ins and outs of health and keeping their body active in this fun filled fitness week. Campers will be exposed to several types of health initiatives including fitness and food!

Week 3: Celebrate NC Week    July 5 - July 7
North Carolina is home to many different cultures and geographies. Campers will discover the history of their home state and even get to visit the Executive Mansion in the heart of the NC Capital.

Week 4: Wild West  Week   July 10 - July 14
Howdy partners! Step right up for a fun-filled week of western style fun. Campers will enjoy a day at the railroad and a chance to become the best in the west.

Week 5: Weird Science Week  July 17 - July 21
Has your little one always wanted to become a mad scientist? Well, look no further as our campers will take on several exciting experiments and visit the Morehead Planetarium!

Week 6: Pirate Week   July 24 - July 28
Ahoy there mateys, get ready to sail the seas with a week of pirate fun and games. Campers will make themed crafts and have a swashbuckling time as they visit one of North Carolina’s aquariums.

Week 7: Sports Extravaganza Week   July 31 - August 4
The craziness continues as we bring out all of the campers favorite sports such as basketball, baseball, soccer, and more! Campers will enjoy an array of sports available throughout the week .

Week 8: Safari Week  August 7 - August 11
Take a trip through the safari as campers learn about animals and more! Fun-filled days include animal themed crafts, games, and even a trip to the zoo!


The cost is $100 per week for residents and $125 per week for non-residents.


Registration will open April 3, 2017.

​Junior Camp Counselors

(Ages 14 - 17) Junior Camp Counselors are area volunteers that will assist Parks & Recreation staff with the Summer Camp. Duties will include assisting with activity planning, helping campers with projects, and camp supervision. This is a great opportunity for teens looking to complete a service project or to gain some valuable experience for college and job applications.
