Town of Fuquay-Varina Projects

Fuquay-Varina Arts Center

Construction is underway on the Fuquay-Varina Arts Center, located at 121 East Vance Street in downtown Fuquay. Intended for use as a community arts center and theatre, the building will be 18,000 square feet and will host shows and events as well as classes.

Southern Street Paving

Southern Street is now paved, in anticipation of the impact of the closing of the railroad crossing at Lawrence Street. This provides connectivity between Lawrence Street and Bridge Street via a one-way street.

Non-Residential Site Plan Projects

601 Attain Street Office Building

Construction plans have been approved for an office building totaling 9,200 square feet at 601 Attain Street. The building is for general office use and is on a 1.98 acre site.

Attain Street Office Building

A site plan is under review for offices at 400 and 404 Attain Street. The plan includes two office buildings totaling 30,000 square feet and an accompanying parking lot with access from Procure Street and Attain Street. The proposed buildings are on a 1.84 acre lot.

Bengal Towne Centre      

Construction plans have been approved for an 18.48 acre form-based development called Bengal Towne Centre, located at 1000 NE Judd Parkway near the intersection with Stewart Street. These plans include 13 tracts, to be developed in the future for a variety of uses such as office, commercial, mixed-use, apartments, and civic space. Additionally, the plans include infrastructure and 53 townhomes.

David Norris Building

A site plan is under review for an auto detailing shop to be located at 5005 Piper Cub Drive. The plan includes a 3,200 square foot building with 9 parking spaces.

Destination Community Church of God

A site plan has been approved for Destination Community Church of God, to be located at the corner of Holland Road and SE Judd Parkway. The proposed 12,000 square foot building is on a 2.63-acre lot.

Fuquay-Varina Library

A site plan has been approved for a new location of the Fuquay-Varina branch of the Wake County Public Library. The plan includes a 3,000-square foot building with an entrance plaza. The new library will be located on a 6.36 acre parcel on Bramblehill Drive and East Academy Street.

Fuquay Wade Nash Substation

A site plan has been approved for Fuquay Wade Nash 115kv Substation, located at 4821 Wade Nash Road. The site is 23.24 total acres near the corner of North Broad Street and Wade Nash Road.

Imperial Self Storage

A site plan is under review for a 37,700 square foot self-storage facility, located at 6917 S NC 55 Hwy, near the corner with Jones Lake Road. The proposed building is on 4.98 acres.

Lincoln Heights Elementary School

Construction is underway at Lincoln Heights Elementary School. Construction includes new buildings, renovations to existing buildings, and parking areas at the existing school site. Lincoln Heights Elementary School is located at 307 Bridge Street.

McCormick Medical Office

Construction is underway on a medical office facility called McCormick Medical Office, located at 401 Attain Street. The plan features an 11,250-square foot medical office building with three (3) tenant spaces.

Partin Place Amenity Center

Construction is underway for an amenity center located in Phase 3 of Partin Place Subdivision, located off of NC 42 Hwy. The proposed amenity center includes a pool, pool house, and mailbox kiosk.

Public Storage – Fuquay-Varina

A site plan is under review for a proposed 124,200 square foot building at 4902 Wade Nash Road at the corner of North Broad Street and Lightwater Lane. This site is 4.78 total acres.

State Employees Credit Union

A site plan has been approved for a new location of the State Employees Credit Union at 9900 Fayetteville Road (Hwy 401) near the Banks Road intersection. The proposed building is 10,000 square feet on 4.69 total acres.

The Learning Experience

A site plan has been approved for the Learning Experience, a daycare located at 2020 Marquee Lane, in the Village of Marquee Station. The proposed building is 10,000 square feet.

Willow Spring High School

Construction is underway for the newest addition to the Wake County Public School System. Willow Spring High School is located at 1704 Old Honeycutt Road, at the corner of Kennebec Road and Old Honeycutt Road. Willow Spring High School is expected to open in 2019.

Residential Development Projects

Adalyn Place

Construction plans have been approved for Adalyn Place Subdivision. This project will be located on a 30.075 acre property at the intersection of East Academy Street and SE Judd Parkway. Adalyn Place is an open space development, including 92 residential lots averaging 7,400 square feet in size. The plan calls for 7.425 acres of open space and the extension of both East Academy Street and Bevis Marks Drive.

Arlington Meadows

A subdivision plan is under review for Arlington Meadows Subdivision, to be located at 1401 Angier Road. The plan calls for a total of 175 residential lots with an average size of 8,324 square feet. The subdivision will include 18.23 acres of open space.

Avery Crossing

Construction plans are under review for Avery Crossing Subdivision located at 1301 Phelps West Road. This will be an open space development featuring 56 single-family residential lots with an average size of 7,120 square feet. The plan proposes 4.265 acres of open space within the overall 19.393 acre project area.

Basal Creek Planned Unit Development

A master plan has been approved for a planned unit development, to be located at 508 Schnapps Lane, called Basal Creek. The plan includes an 85.8 acre tract, to be developed in the future for a variety of uses including mixed-use buildings, apartments, and townhomes. The plan also calls for just over 30 acres of open space. Construction plans are under review for Basal Creek Townhomes which includes 234 townhomes.

Bent Tree

Construction is underway for Bent Tree Phase 1, located at 721 and 911 Fleming Loop Road. The open space development features 78 single-family residential lots in Phase 1, with an average size of 8,500 square feet, on the overall 34 acre project area. A preliminary subdivision plan has been approved for Bent Tree Phases 2 & 3, located at 721 and 911 Fleming Loop Road. The open space development features 205 single-family residential lots in Phases 2 & 3, with an average lot size of 8130 square feet. The plan also calls for just over 24 acres of open space.

Bentwinds Bluffs


Construction of homes is nearly complete in the Bentwinds Bluffs Subdivision, located off of Old Mills Road. This is a conventional subdivision of 69 lots on 30.56 acres, which will feature 10,000 square foot minimum lot size.

Black Creek Estates


Construction plans are in review for Black Creek Estates, located at 1955 Eddie Howard Road. The 26.491 acre tract includes 24 single-family residential lots, with an average 27,450 square foot lot size.

Brighton Ridge


Construction plans are under review for Brighton Ridge Subdivision, located near the intersection of Hilltop Needmore Road and Lake Wheeler Road. The open space development includes 164 lots, averaging 10,300 square feet in size, and 56.49 acres of open space.

Broadwell Trace


A preliminary plan has been approved for an open space development called Broadwell Trace, to be located at 721 Coley Farm Road. The plan features 120 single-family residential lots with an average lot size of 6,721 square feet, and 16.9 acres of open space.

Brookside


The construction of homes is nearly complete in Brookside, a subdivision near the intersection of NE Judd Parkway and Stewart Street, and located off of Judd Parkway. Brookside is an open space development, with 8.4 acres of open space within a total of 31.6 acres, containing 96 single-family lots.

Cedar Crest


Homes are under construction at Cedar Crest Subdivision, located at 6826 Sunset Lake Road, just north of Ballentine Elementary School. Cedar Crest is a conventional subdivision featuring 59 total lots with minimum lot sizes of 10,000 square feet, on 22.15 acres.

Copper Pond


Homes are under construction in Phases 1 and 2 of Copper Pond Subdivision. Construction plans for Phases 3-5 have been approved for the Copper Pond Subdivision, located off Piney Grove Wilbon Road near the intersection with West Academy Street (NC 42 Hwy). Copper Pond features 50 total lots in 5 phases with a minimum lot size of 20,000 square feet. The overall development includes 46.61 total acres.

Crown Village


Construction plans are under review for a conventional subdivision called Crown Village, located at 6513 Mims Road. The subdivision features 10 lots, averaging 36,200 square feet in size.

Cypress Meadows

Construction of homes is nearly complete in Cypress Meadows Subdivision, an open space development to be located off Ten-Ten Road and Old McCullers Road. The site is totals 53.5 acres and includes 152 lots and 18.58 acres of open space.

Gray’s Creek


Construction of homes is nearly complete in Gray’s Creek Subdivision, an open space development located off of Wilbon Road. The total subdivision includes 250 lots on over 90 acres, and will have access onto Coley Farm Road and Wilbon Road. 

Hidden Valley


Construction of infrastructure has begun for Hidden Valley Subdivision, located across multiple parcels that stretch between Purfoy Road and South NC 55 Highway, previously the Hidden Valley Golf Club. The 214.96 acre open space development will feature 505 single-family lots, averaging 9,400 square feet in size, with 75.49 acres of open space. Preliminary plan and construction plan amendments are currently under review.

Highland Forest

Construction plans are under review for Highland Forest Subdivision, located at 1455 Bowling Road. This open space development includes 90 single-family lots, with an average lot size of 8,517 square feet. The site is 45.16 total acres, including 18.32 acres of open space.

Holland Station Townhomes


Construction of infrastructure has begun for Holland Station Townhomes, located at 560 SE Judd Parkway. This project includes 110 units on 21.866 acres, 6.77 acres of open space, has access onto Holland Road, and includes the extension of Barneswyck Drive.

Judd Reserve

Construction is underway at Judd Reserve, a conventional subdivision located at 7209 Kennebec Road. Judd Reserve features a total of 52 lots with a minimum lot size of 20,000 square feet.

Kennebec Meadows

Construction plans have been approved for Kennebec Meadows, located at 6817 Kennebec Road. The conventional subdivision totals 48.27 acres and includes 49 single-family lots. Lot sizes will average 27,000 square feet.

Kingston Wood

Construction plans are under review for a conventional single-family residential subdivision at 2525 Fleming Road, called Kingston Wood. The plan calls for 13 residential lots with a minimum lot size of 20,000 square feet. 

Lakeview

Preliminary plans are under review for Lakeview Subdivision, located at 1339 Old Honeycutt Road, east of South NC 55 Hwy. This open space development includes 135 single-family lots, with an average lot size of 5,982 square feet. The site is 36.18 total acres, including 9.84 acres of open space.

Logan Meadow


Construction plans are under review for a conventional subdivision, located at 501 SE Judd Parkway, near the intersection of Holland Road. Logan Meadow totals 4.64 acres and includes 12 single-family lots. The lots will average 7,400 square feet in size.

Meadow Bluffs


Preliminary plans have been approved for an open space subdivision for 239 single-family lots located at 6021 Johnson Pond Road. Phases 1 and 2 construction plans are under review which includes 58 lots with a minimum lot size of 5,000 square feet. The site is 93.28 total acres and includes 35.38 acres in open space.

Meadowbrook


Construction plans have been approved for Meadowbrook Subdivision. This is an open space development totaling 144.82 acres, located at 6600 South NC 55 Hwy. The plan calls for 282 single-family residential lots with an average lot size of 13,285 square feet. A total of 45.12 acres of open space is included. 

Meridian at Broad Street Market


Construction of Meridian at Broad Street Market, a multifamily residential development, is nearly complete. This project is located at 1810 James Slaughter Road behind Broad Street Market and has access onto NE Judd Parkway and James Slaughter Road. The development features 216 total apartment units and a 7,453 square foot clubhouse building with an outdoor pool.

Meyers Place


Construction of infrastructure is underway for a single-family conventional subdivision located at 6308 Mims Road, called Meyers Place. This 56.39 acre development features 39 single-family lots averaging 35,400 square feet in size.

Partin Place


Infrastructure for Phases 3 and 5 is under construction. Construction plans for Phase 4 are under review and construction plans for Phase 6 has been approved. The subdivision features a total of 289 residential lots. Phases 1 and 2 can be accessed via Harrison Place Lane in the existing Harrison Place Subdivision off of NC 42 Hwy, with additional access directly to NC 42 Hwy.

Patriot Bluffs


Construction of infrastructure is underway for a residential development located at 6428 Johnson Pond Road, called Patriot Bluffs. The open space development features 52 single-family lots with a minimum lot size of 5,000 square feet and 4.94 acres of open space.

Powell Place

A preliminary subdivision plan is in review for Powell Place, located at 5404 Old Powell Road. The open space development features 60 single-family residential lots, with an average lot size of 8,790. The plan also includes 17.07 acres of open space.

The Retreat at Fuquay-Varina

Construction is underway for the Retreat at Fuquay-Varina, a multi-family development located at 800 NE Judd Parkway across from Products Road. The project features 432 units.

Ryan Place


Construction plans are in review for Ryan Place Subdivision, located at 1335 Bowling Road. This open space development includes 63 single-family lots, averaging 7,600 square feet, and 14.96 acres of open space.

Sippihaw Springs


Preliminary plans are under review for Sippihaw Springs subdivision, located at 6008 NC 55 Hwy. This open space development consists of 20 single-family lots on 25.07 acres.

Sonoma Springs


Sonoma Springs Subdivision is a 46-acre open space development located off of Hilltop Needmore Road near the intersection with Sunset Lake Road. The subdivision will be constructed in three (3) phases, featuring a total of 126 single-family residential lots with a minimum lot size of 6,000 square feet. Construction of homes is underway in Phases 1 and 2 of Sonoma Springs. Construction plans for Phase 3 of Sonoma Springs have been approved.

South Lakes

South Lakes is a Planned Unit Development (PUD) that features 991 residential lots. Multiple phases are now in progress and home construction is underway in Phase SF-7. This phase includes 290 lots in total and will be accessed from Old Honeycutt Road. Phase SF-8, an infrastructure only project, has been approved and includes the extension of Fuquay-Varina Parkway north of Old Honeycutt Road. Constriction of infrastructure is underway for Phase SF-10, which includes 75 single-family lots located on the east side of Kennebec Road.

Stonecreek


A preliminary subdivision plan is under review for Stonecreek Subdivision, located at 5324 Hilltop Needmore Road. This open space development consists of 185 single-family lots averaging 10,971 lot size. The site has a total of 77.46 acres and includes 17.30 acres of open space.

Summerdale


Summerdale is an open space subdivision accessed off West Academy Street (NC 42 Hwy) and Coley Farm Road. The subdivision features 201 single-family lots with an average lot size of 5,300 square feet. Construction of homes is nearly complete in Phases 5 and 6. Phase 7 construction plans are in review.

Summerdale North

Construction plans are in review for Summerdale North, located on Dawley Drive. The open space development features 26 lots on 6.7 acres, with an average lot size of 6,100 square feet, and includes 1.8156 acres of open space.

Sunset Bluffs

Sunset Bluffs Phases 1–5 is a subdivision development of 65.7 acres, located off of Herbert Akins Road near the intersection with Bass Lake Road. The development features 185 lots and 17.62 acres of open space.

Plans have been approved for Sunset Bluffs Phases 6–17. This is an open space development featuring 214 total lots with a minimum lot size of 7,000 square feet, including 23.57 acres of open space. Construction of homes and infrastructure is underway in various phases of the subdivision.

Sunset Glen

Construction of homes is underway in Sunset Glen, a conventional subdivision featuring 46 total lots, located off of Sunset Lake Road. The subdivision includes a minimum lot size of 20,000 square feet.

The Spring Townhomes

Construction is underway for a 15 unit townhome development to be located in downtown Fuquay on the corner of Spring Avenue and Vance Street, at 208 Spring Street on 0.80 acres.

Theys Mill

Construction plans are under review for a single-family subdivision, located at 1240 Kenneth Branch Drive, called Theys Mill. This open space development includes 76 lots averaging 8,394 square feet in size. The project has access onto Bowling Road and includes 6.68 acres of open space.

Trilogy Farm


A preliminary plan has been approved for a 65.22 acre subdivision development, located at 8220 Lake Wheeler Road, called Trilogy Farm. The open space development includes 134 single-family lots averaging 12,131 square feet in size and 19.80 acres of open space.

Union Station


Construction of infrastructure is underway for a single-family residential subdivision, located at 235 Coley Farm Road called Union Station. This open space development includes 66 lots averaging 7,900 square feet in size, including 3.50 acres of open space.

The Village at Lake Wheeler

Construction plans are under review for an open space development located at 8536 Lake Wheeler Road, called the Village at Lake Wheeler. The plan calls for 108 single-family residential lots, with an average lot size of 8,700 square feet. The development will feature a total of 13.1 acres of open space.

White Oak II


Construction of homes is underway at White Oak II Subdivision. The conventional subdivision includes six (6) new single-family residential lots with a minimum 30,000 square feet in size. The project is located on Dwight Rowland Road near the intersection with Kennebec Road.

New Businesses & Existing Business Improvements


This is a list of renovations and improvements to existing buildings for new businesses coming to Fuquay-Varina, as well as existing businesses making improvements or expansions.

Academy East Veterinary Hospital

A site plan is in review for an expansion of the existing veterinary hospital, located at 1005 Procure Street. This expansion includes an additional 1,969 square feet and a parking lot extension.

Aviator Pizza & Retail

Construction is underway for an expansion of the existing Aviator Brewing Company Beer Shop located at 601 East Broad Street. The expansion incorporates another existing building, at 603 East Broad Street, and includes a pizzeria, retail store, and parking lot.

Bazzel Creek Church Expansion


Construction plans have been approved for an expansion of the Bazzel Creek Church located at 1228 Wilbon Road. This expansion includes a 3,000-square foot addition and parking lot

Bob Barker Building Addition


Construction is complete of an addition to the Bob Barker facility located at 7925 Purfoy Road. This expansion includes a 44,300 square foot building addition to the facility and a parking lot expansion.

Cultivate Coffee Roasters


128 South Fuquay Avenue is being renovated for a coffee shop, called Cultivate Coffee Roasters, across from the Fuquay-Varina Museum and DMV office.

McDonald’s Site Improvements


McDonald’s, located at 1409 North Main Street (Hwy 401), has submitted a site plan and building plans for the existing location. The improvements will provide for upgraded parking and accessibility.

Southbend Expansion


Expansion of Southbend, located at 1100 Old Honeycutt Road is underway. The projects includes a 45,000 square foot expansion to the rear of the existing building.

Southview Self-Storage Expansion

A site plan has been approved for an expansion of the Southview Self Storage Facility, located at 6008 NC Highway 55.

Wake Chapel Christian Church


Construction is complete for the expansion of Wake Chapel Christian Church, located at 905 Wake Chapel Road. The plans include demolition of the existing parsonage building and relocation of the playground. The existing main building will be enlarged by 7,726 square feet.
