Southern Street Paving
Southern Street is being paved, in anticipation of the impact of the closing of the railroad crossing at Lawrence Street. This will provide connectivity between Lawrence Street and Bridge Street via a one-way street.
Bridge Street Sidewalk
The Bridge Street sidewalk project includes the construction of 0.4 miles of sidewalk along Bridge Street. The sidewalk will fill in existing gaps along Bridge Street and cross over the railroad. The project will continue along Bridge Street and will be terminated at the Lincoln Heights Elementary School with a high visibility crosswalk at the Conover Street intersection.
Academy Street Sidewalk
This project improves connectivity along West Academy Street (Hwy 42). The sidewalk spans from the intersection with Judd Parkway SW to the existing sidewalk in the vicinity of Summerdale Subdivision, providing a direct route from downtown Fuquay to Fleming Loop Park. Non-Residential Site Plan Project
Plans have been approved for an expansion at Aldi, located at 1375 North Main Street (Hwy 401). The expansion includes an addition of 3,400 square feet to the rear of the building, as well as improvements to the parking lot.

Harris Teeter Fuel Center
Construction is underway for Harris Teeter Fuel Center at 8112 Fayetteville Road (Hwy 401). This project is located near the Pep Boys and Splash Express Car Wash. The Harris Teeter Fuel Center includes 14 gas pumps.
Lincoln Heights Elementary School
Construction is currently underway at Lincoln Heights Elementary School. Construction includes new buildings, renovations to existing buildings, and parking areas at the existing school site. Lincoln Heights Elementary School is located at 307 Bridge Street.
McCormick Medical Office
Construction is underway on a medical office facility called McCormick Medical Office, located at 401 Attain Street. The plan features an 11,300 square foot medical office building.
National Tire & Battery
A site plan is under review for National Tire & Battery, to be located at 939 East Broad Street in the Walmart Shopping Center. The plan features a 6,900 square foot building.
Sonoma Springs Amenity Center
The Sonoma Springs Amenity Center is now under construction. The project is located in Phase 1 of the Sonoma Springs Subdivision, and includes a pool and amenity building, measuring a combined 9,500 square feet.
South Lakes Neighborhood Amenity Center Expansion
An amenity center expansion is under construction in the South Lakes Subdivision, located at 3042 Jones Lake Road. The expansion includes a new lap pool and additional parking.
A site plan has been submitted and is under review for a new location of the State Employees Credit Union at 9900 Fayetteville Road (Hwy 401) near the Banks Road intersection. The proposed building is 10,000 square feet.
The Learning Experience
A site plan has been approved for the Learning Experience, a daycare, at 2020 Marquee Lane, located in Marquee Station. The proposed building is 10,000 square feet.
Willow Spring High School
Construction is underway for the newest addition to the Wake County Public School System. Willow Spring High School is located at 1704 Old Honeycutt Road, at the corner of Kennebec Road and Old Honeycutt Road. Willow Spring High School is expected to open in 2019.
Residential Development Projects
Construction plans are under review for Adalyn Place Subdivision. This project will be located on a 30.075 acre property at 260 Bramblehill Drive. Adalyn Place is an open space development, including 92 residential lots averaging 7,400 square feet in size. The plan calls for 7.425 acres of open space.
Angier Road Subdivision
A subdivision plan has been submitted called Angier Road Subdivision, to be located at 1401 Angier Road. The plan calls for a total of 173 residential lots with an average size of 8,360 square feet. The subdivision proposes 18.63 acres of open space. Project name is subject to change.
Construction is almost completed in Phase 2 of Avalon Springs. There are 14 residential lots total in this phase.
Construction plans are in review for Avery Crossing subdivision located at 1301 Phelps West Road. This will be an open space development featuring 57 single-family residential lots with an average size of 7,120 square feet. The plan proposes 4.1 acres of open space within the overall 16.18 acre project area.
Bent Tree Phase 1
A subdivision plan is in review for Bent Tree Phase 1, located at 721 and 911 Fleming Loop Road. The open space development features 78 single-family residential lots in Phase 1, with an average size of 8,500 square feet, on 34 acres total.
Construction of homes is now underway in the Bentwinds Bluffs subdivision, to be located off of Old Mills Road. This is a conventional subdivision of 69 lots on 30.56 acres which will feature 10,000 minimum lot size.
Black Creek Estates
A subdivision plan has been submitted for Black Creek Estates, located at 1955 Eddie Howard Road. The 26 acre tract includes 25 single-family home lots, with an average of 27,450 square foot lot size.
Plans have been approved for the Brighton Ridge Subdivision, located near the intersection of Hilltop Needmore Road and Lake Wheeler Road. The open space development includes 164 lots, averaging 10,300 square feet in size.
Homes are now under construction for Phases 3A and 3B of Brookside, a subdivision near the intersection of Judd Parkway NE and Stewart Street, and located off of Judd Parkway. Brookside is an open space development, with 8.4 acres of open space within a total of 31.6 acres, containing 96 single-family lots.
Infrastructure construction at Cedar Crest subdivision is nearly complete. It is located at 6826 Sunset Lake Road, just north of Ballentine Elementary School. Cedar Crest is a conventional subdivision featuring 59 total lots with minimum lot sizes of 10,000 square feet, on 22.15 acres. This project was formerly known as Madison at Ballentine.
Construction plans for Phases 3-5 are in review for the Copper Pond Subdivision, to be located off of Piney Grove Wilbon Road, near the intersection with Academy St (Hwy 42). Copper Pond features 50 total lots in 5 phases with a minimum lot size of 20,000 square feet. The overall development includes 46.61 total acres.
Construction of homes is underway in Cypress Meadows, an open space development to be located off of Ten-Ten Road and Old McCullers Road. The site is 53.5 acres in total, and includes 152 lots and 18.58 acres of open space.
Fleming Road Subdivision
A preliminary subdivision plan has been submitted and is in review for a conventional single-family residential subdivision at 2525 Fleming Road called Fleming Road Subdivision. The preliminary plan calls for 13 residential lots with a minimum lot size of 20,000 square feet. Project name is subject to change.
Construction of homes is underway in Gray’s Creek Subdivision, an open space development located off of Wilbon Road. The total subdivision includes 250 lots on just over 90 acres, and will also have access onto Coley Farm Road and Wilbon Road.
Construction plans are under review for Hidden Valley Subdivision, located across multiple parcels that stretch between Purfoy Road and South NC 55 Highway, previously the Hidden Valley Golf Club. The 214.96 acre open space development will feature 505 single-family lots, averaging 9,400 square feet in size.
Holland Station Townhomes
Plans are under review for Holland Station Townhomes, located at 560 Judd Parkway SE. This project includes 110 units on 21 acres.
Construction of homes is underway at Judd Reserve, a conventional subdivision located at 7209 Kennebec Road. Judd Reserve features a total of 52 lots with a minimum lot size of 20,000 square feet.
A subdivision plan has been approved for Kennebec Meadows, located at 6817 Kennebec Road. The development totals 48.27 acres and includes 49 single-family lots. Lot sizes will average 27,000 square feet.
A subdivision plan is in review for a conventional subdivision, located at 501 Judd Parkway SE, near the intersection of Holland Road. Logan Manor totals 4.64 acres and includes 12 single-family lots. The lots will average 7,400 square feet in size.
Construction plans are under review for Meadowbrook Subdivision. This is an open space development totaling 144.82 acres, located at 6600 South NC Highway 55. The plan calls for 282 single-family residential lots with an average lot size of 13,285 square feet. A total of 45.12 acres of open space is included.
Meridian at Broad Street Market
Construction is underway on a multifamily residential development, Meridian at Broad Street Market. This project is located at 1810 James Slaughter Road, behind Broad Street Market. The development features 216 total apartment units and a 7,453 square foot clubhouse building with an outdoor pool.
Mill Ridge South
Construction of homes is now underway in Mill Ridge South, a residential subdivision with 47 total lots located off of James Slaughter Road.
Construction plans are in review for a single-family conventional subdivision located at 6308 Mims Road, called Meyers Place. This 56.39 acre development features 39 single-family lots averaging 35,400 square feet in size.
Oaks of Sippihaw
Homes are being constructed in Phase 4 of Oaks of Sippihaw, which includes 25 lots. This phase is accessed from Phase 3 of Oaks of Sippihaw, and provides connections to two (2) other locations in the Woodchase Subdivision. The Oaks at Sippihaw subdivision features 145 total lots.
Construction of homes is nearly complete in Phases 1 and 2 of Partin Place Subdivision. Infrastructure in Phases 3 and 5 is under construction. Construction plans for Phases 4 and 6 are in review. The entire subdivision features a total of 289 residential lots. Phases 1 and 2 can be accessed via Harrison Place Lane, in the existing Harrison Place Subdivision off of NC Hwy 42.
A subdivision plan has been submitted and is under review for a residential development, at 6428 Johnson Pond Road, called Patriot Bluffs. The open space development features 52 single-family lots, with a minimum lot size of 5,000 square feet.
The Retreat at Fuquay-Varina
A site plan is under review for The Retreat at Fuquay-Varina, a multi-family development, located at 800 Judd Parkway NE. The project features 432 units.
A subdivision plan has been approved for Ryan Place, located at 1335 Bowling Road. This open space development includes 63 single-family lots, averaging 7,600 square feet.
Sonoma Springs is a 46 acre open space development located off of Hilltop Needmore Road near the intersection with Sunset Lake Road. The subdivision will be constructed in three (3) phases, featuring a total of 126 single-family residential lots with a minimum lot size of 6,000 square feet. Construction of homes is now underway in Phase 1 of Sonoma Springs. Construction plans for Phase 3 of Sonoma Springs are currently under review.
Sorrell Property Subdivision
A subdivision plan has been submitted and is in review for a 65 acre subdivision development, located at 8220 Lake Wheeler Road, called Sorrell Property. The open space development includes 121 single-family lots averaging 13,900 square feet in size.
South Lakes is a Planned Unit Development (PUD) that features 991 residential lots. Multiple phases are now in progress. Home construction is underway in SF-7 (Phase 7) of the South Lakes Planned Development (PD) community. This phase includes 290 lots in total, divided into 6 smaller sections, and will be accessed from Old Honeycutt Road. SF-8, an infrastructure only project, is now approved. SF-10 construction plans are in review. This phase proposes an additional 75 single-family lots located on the east side of Kennebec Road. Home construction is nearly complete in South Lakes SF-11 (Phase 11). This phase is adjacent to SF-4 and includes 45 single-family lots.
Summerdale is an open space subdivision accessed off West Academy Street (NC Hwy 42) and Coley Farm Road. The subdivision features 201 single family lots with an average lot size of 5,300 square feet. Construction of homes is underway in Phases 2, 3, 5 and 6.
A subdivision plan has been approved for Summerdale North, located at on Dawley Drive. The open space development features 26 lots on 6.7 acres, with an average lot size of 6,100 square feet.
A subdivision plan has been approved for a development of 65.7 acres, located off of Herbert Akins Road near the intersection with Bass Lake Road. The development totals 185 lots and 17.62 acres of open space in Phases 1 through 5. Construction of homes is now underway in Phases 3A, 3B, 4B, 4C, 5A, and 5B.
Plans have been approved for Sunset Bluffs Phases 6-17. This is an open space development featuring 214 total lots with a minimum lot size of 7,000 square feet. Construction of utilities is in progress for phases 6, 7, 8, and 10. Construction plans for Phases 13 and 14 are in review.
Construction of homes is underway at Sunset Glen, a conventional subdivision featuring 46 total lots, located off of Sunset Lake Road. The subdivision includes a minimum lot size of 20,000 square feet.
The Spring Townhomes
Construction is underway for a 15 unit townhome development to be located in downtown Fuquay on the corner of Spring Avenue and Vance Street, at 208 Spring Street.
Construction of homes is underway at Tyler Park Subdivision. The open space subdivision includes a total of 43.2 acres, with 14.9 acres of open space. Located off of Stewart Street, near the intersection with James Slaughter Road, the project include a total of 89 lots.
A subdivision plan has been approved for a single-family home subdivision, located at 235 Coley Farm Road called Union Station. This open space development includes 66 lots averaging 7,900 square feet in size.
White Oak II
Construction plans have been approved for White Oak Subdivision. The conventional subdivision includes six (6) new single-family residential lots with a minimum 30,000 square feet in size. The project is located at 6801 Dwight Rowland Road.
New Businesses & Existing Business Improvements
This is a list of renovations and improvements to existing buildings for new businesses coming to Fuquay-Varina, as well as existing businesses making improvements or expansions.
Aviator Pizza & Retail
Plans have been submitted and are in review for an expansion of the existing Aviator Brewing Company Beer Shop located at 601 East Broad Street. The expansion incorporates another existing building, at 603 East Broad Street, and includes a pizzeria and retail store.
Bob Barker Building Addition
Construction is underway for an addition to the Bob Barker facility located at 7925 Purfoy Road. This expansion includes a 44,300 square foot addition to the rear of the
McDonald’s Site Improvements
McDonald’s, located at 1409 North Main Street (Hwy 401) has submitted a site plan and building plans for the existing location. The improvements will provide for improved parking and accessibility.

Construction has begun on an expansion of TEC Graphics located at 101 Technology Park Lane. The project includes a 4,000 square foot addition to the rear of the building.
Wake Chapel Christian Church
Construction is underway for the expansion of Wake Chapel Christian Church, located at 905 Wake Chapel Road. The plans call for
